We offer many dance styles at our studio
At Studio H we offer dancers a breadth of skills, knowledge, confidence and the tools required to go from recreational to a professional level and teacher programs.
Through examinations, students are able to gain discipline, experience, as well as a sense of achievement. Exam students are also offered an opportunity to undertake a Masterclass program, taught by our program leads and resident examiner. This is offered as part of their examination process and to help prepare students to further improve and develop their skills in an intensive one week session.
Studio H Troupe
Studio H Troupe program is an offering allowing our most experienced dancers to excel and put into practice their technique and skills. As part of this extension program our troupettes are encouraged to be studio role models instilling confidence, discipline, team spirit and commitment across the board.
Performing and representing the school at competitions and events provides our students the exposure to many different opportunities, industry choreographers and helps them to prepare for a professional dance career in the world of dance and performing arts.
A position in the troupe streams is by invitation which comes with a level of expectation for students to maintain their position in the team. We ask for the full year commitment to competitions, exams, excursions and studio events.
Teacher Training Program
Our Teacher Training Program is suitable for students wishing to gain professional teaching qualifications in Tap, Ballet and Modern Jazz. As part of the ADA Grade syllabus, Studio H helps to prepare striving students to obtain their Pre-Elementary which covers Pre-Primary to Grade 2 and results in being a qualified professional teacher with ADA.
Our teacher program is an extended offer to our senior dance students interested in becoming a teacher where they can enhance their knowledge and skills to manage a classroom through assistant dance teaching in a variety of classes. This allows both the student teacher to become accustomed to a classroom environment, building their confidence and expertise on how to be the best teacher they can be. Child safety and protection, practical and theory (i.e. anatomy), will be covered, along with developing the skill of lesson planning and class structure.
